Solstice is a magical time in the garden. On Kauai, the lotus season is peaking around the summer solstice, so we get to enjoy the pinnacle of lotus growth – the mesmerizing blooms – after months of winter dormancy, repotting, waiting… and watching in wonder as the lotus blooms emerge out of the ‘muck’. One hundred and twenty million years in the making, the lotus is one of the oldest flowering plants on earth.

This year we have a new variety available for sale called the ‘Golden Sunset Lotus’ – the first ‘orange’ lotus variety that changes colors each day as it blooms, mirroring warm sunset hues. It starts as a glowing peach-pink color, then blushes orange and finishes yellow – an incredible sight to behold!
New Shipment Arriving in August
We have a new shipment of Paros pots and statuary arriving in August, so be sure to place your orders with us. If you put a 50 percent deposit down, you will have first pick of the new arrivals. In addition, if there are any custom Paros or garden statues you would like to have hand-carved, we are always taking orders for our next shipment. Paros, the Balinese Stone Vessel
Paros is a mixture of pumice, lava and concrete stone that is poured into a form and then hand-carved into beautiful ‘lava stone’ vessels or statues. Many Balinese temples are carved from this stone mixture, because it is lightweight, absorbs and holds water well, and ages quickly; developing a coating of moss that adds to its natural appeal. For this reason, we have chosen to have our carvers create a line of these stone vessels designed to sit under rain chains, to beautifully capture the flowing water – and become a living art piece.
